Reading for a lifetime to understand how my story and other stories fit into that one Great Story. "But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world...had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." ~ THE LAST BATTLE by C. S. Lewis.

Books Read in 2009
Last year I assembled a list of books from memory and listed them alphabetically by title. Since I'll be compiling this year's list concurrently with my reading, I think I will list them in the order completed. The title will be a link to my review, and any other pertinent information will follow.
Lovely list. I've enjoyed many of these same books in the past. And a few are on my TBR list. I love George MacDonald's Curdie stories and Wind in the Willows, both of which I discovered as an adult.
ReplyDeleteI almost envy you your 2009 year of reading. SO many of my favorites are on your list: Wendell Berry, Dorothy Sayers, George Macdonald, L.M Montgomery. It would be such a trip to be reading those books for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great list. I have Nathan Coulter headed my way from Amazon even now. I missed reading any Berry last year, but I intend to remedy that in 2010. :-)
